Course Aims
This course will enable the delegate to install Windows NT workstation and server products, and customise them to specific requirements. System installation problems, recovery and faultfinding server problems will be covered in detail, and this will enable delegates to tackle complex troubleshooting problems on the NT operating system. This course is ideally suited for network support and engineering staff.

Course Prerequisites
Delegates attending this course should have a good understanding of either Windows 95or 98/ME and a basic knowledge of networks (TCP/IP etc).

Course Objectives
After this course delegates will be able to:-

List the main features of the NT operating system

Install NT Workstation and NT server products

Use the NTHQ tool to evaluate installation problems

Add users and groups and setup the accounts login policy

Describe the major differences between an NT workgroup and an NT domain

Set-up multiple Domain trust relationships and synchronise domain controllers

Describe the Windows browsing system

Create and use the Emergency repair diskette and replace missing or corrupt operating system files

Install NT Service packs

Set-up TCP/IP using WINS and DHCP

Set-up networked printers and disks

Set-up and monitor fault tolerant disk arrays

Use Windows NT as a NetWare Gateway

Trouble-shoot common networking problems

Trouble-shoot a failed boot.
