Objectives |

| This course is designed to build on the UNIX introduction course and will give
delegates the opportunity to add and control UNIX devices, tune systems and
use nested UNIX commands to tackle complex tasks.
Duration 3 days Course Prerequisites Delegates attending this course should have attended the UNIX introduction course or have equivalent knowledge. |
Set-up and control the UNIX printing system Use compound commands such as xargs and -exec to tackle complicated tasks Write a simple shell script program to check out various peripherals Tackle poor performance problems using the vmstat and sar commands Add disk drives and tape systems to a UNIX system Set-up UNIX TCP/IP networking and control access to system resources Connect to a Windows network and be able to use Windows shares Set-up a networked file system (NFS), and be able to export and mount directories. |
